D.El.Ed is a Diploma course in Elementary Education. It is a 2-year full-time diploma course to train teachers for the primary level. It is a 4-semester course to prepare students to work in primary/ upper primary schools in different states of the country. The design of the course is such that it includes practical training and internships along with classroom training. It includes principles of child development, education practice, and the role of the teacher in grooming the students.
Ed Course are notified by the Department of General Education, Govt. of Kerala. The application form duly filled along with photocopies of mark lists and a fee need to be submitted to the Deputy Director of Education of the district (Merit Seat) or to the principal of the college (Management Seat).
One can work as a Primary Teacher, Career Counsellor, Primary School Teacher in Government, and Private school writer in renowned ed-tech companies like Byjus after completing this course. They can also opt to pursue higher degrees in Education such as BEd and MEd.
